Helping You Focus On What Matters
CityReporter is the Perfect Solution to Manage your Building Permit Process
Municipalities everywhere are looking for smarter updates for their building permit process due to:
- Insufficient staff to handle increasing workloads
- Backlogs created by outdated paper methods
- Simple cases of human error
CityReporter provides a solution to improve and modernize your department’s permit process. With the permit management software, you can create and manage permits from initial application to building inspection through to final occupancy.
Streamlining Applications and client interactions are at the forefront of our clients concerns. As such we have an integrated citizen portal allowing your clients to apply for permits online and even pay their fees through our payment gateway.
With all the information available on smartphones or tablets, inspection management, scheduling, and any potential code violations or concerns can be logged and stored in one convenient and easily accessible place, maximizing productivity across locations.
Optimize Workflow Flexibility to Meet Specific Building Needs
All of CityReporter’s features are designed to streamline the administrative aspects of permits, which frees up time and resources so all members of a building inspection team can focus on what truly matters – public health and safety.
CityReporter technology shows the current permit status of every building so you can avoid repeating, missing, or skipping critical steps in the process. Scheduled inspections and updates can be synced to your Outlook calendar, keeping you informed and proactive.
Old paper-based systems unintentionally waste time and resources with repeated administrative tasks, backing up projects as inspectors have to spend more time focusing on tracking down information than actually inspecting the building.
Improved Resource Allocation: Get More Done in Less Time
With improved resource allocation, inspection teams have more time to focus on what is really important. Projects are able to be completed closer to the deadline and much unnecessary cost is eliminated.
With e-filing, everything is stored in one convenient place that can be accessed from anywhere, meaning both time and resources can be better spent serving the customer.
By eliminating delays and fast-tracking inspections, teams can maximize work schedules and provide a reliable, dependable service to the community.
The pay portal and permit portal are working well. Most people find it easy and fast. There will always be some that struggle with computers. Over 98% of the permits now no-one has to come to the county office. Freeing my time and with the covid stuff a relief of concerns of spreading unnecessary germs.
Back when we were working closely with your team suggesting and in the beta trials, I saw the huge potential of this software for future cities and county governments. The fact that it is editable and the cloud access makes it not only user friendly but a breeze. For example the previous 20 years the county was only a paper driven permit. Filing was a disaster and often lost docs. People didn’t want to bother driving the distance ( Dooly County is almost 400 sq miles)and would just do the projects with the county none the wiser. The annual revenue had not exceeded $30,000.00 dollars which never covered the expenses of the department and no more than 90 permits a year. When the county hired me I asked if they wanted to be brought up to the 21st century. They said most people who are in the construction industry are not computer savvy. I am kinda fluke. I am strong in both categories. I have 35 years experience from basic level construction to Sr. project management and along the way began when computers first hit the market. I always kept up with the trends in computers. I brought these skills to the position. I have completely removed the need for paper files and do almost everything from the computer, tablet or cell phone. The software and ease of getting permits have raised the quantity of permits to over 300 issued permits last year and we have already exceeded that this year. Last revenues were over $200,000.00 for the department. The county commissioners were shocked. In addition it has enhanced the tax assessors department because they never knew there were enhancements to properties which enabled them to increase revenues as well. We have since gotten a second license from Noratek for the tax assessor to have direct access to the software.
Director of Development Services
Our city has been using the CityReporter inspection tool since January 2011.
We have found that it has helped us lower our costs by eliminating the need for paper printing, micro fiche and storage.
Beyond the cost savings, CityReporter has helped our city with our Go Green strategy and makes doing the inspection process quicker and more consistent.
I have found the Noratek team to be easy to work with and very responsive to our needs. I would recommend CityReporter to any city interested in improving their inspection process and lowering costs at the same time.
The City of Colville Building and Planning Department has had the pleasure of working with the CityReporter software for about a year and it has been a wonderful experience. In the past our permitting proccess was slow and ineffective. Working with CityReporter has made permitting a breeze and keeps our department organized and effective.
The value of this software is displayed not only in the price , but also in the time and resources saved due to its efficiency.
